Monochrome Monday
An enjoyable time was had at Narrow Gauge Now with the layout running well all day and received several nice compliments about the layout. Whilst predominantly a 009 show, it was interesting chatting to some 009 modellers who are considering moving up to NG7 scale with the introduction of the Bachmann Quarry Hunslets. The arrival of a speeding ticket I got whilst travelling to NG Now hasn’t dented my enjoyment at going, don’t suppose that sort of thing is covered by exhibition expenses…
The following day saw us heading west to Tywyn for some family time interspersed with some volunteering on the Talyllyn Railway. The weather was very mild for October half term and a day spent walking around and across the Mawddach at Barmouth felt more like summer.
My last turn of the season was a filming special mixed train. It was good to do something different and shunting slate wagons around at Nant Gwernol is something I’ve not done for a while and is a good nod to the railway’s past.
There was also chance to enjoy the more usual Talyllyn operation of scampering about the valley enjoying…
Sunshine…
Tea…
Cake…
A business model that I thoroughly approve of! Made even more enjoyable by the sun shining down on our gallant old engine, No 2.
