Narrow Gauge Now
Tomorrow sees Wheal Ponder attend the Narrow Gauge Now exhibition at Portland College near Mansfield. It looks like being a good day, we’re off to support their growth from a 009 show to a multi scale narrow gauge show. More details here: https://www.narrowgaugenow.uk/narrow-gauge-now-2024
In a strange alternative reality to usual, everything I wanted to complete for the show was completed over a week ago with all paint and glue well and truly set for once!
This morning was spent dismantling the layout and packing it up. There’s more stock than last time I took it out so stock packing longer than usual. But with sufficient kitchen roll and bubble wrap deployed, all is securely packed away.
There was a little running done before packing, enough to jump on the #FrontEndFriday bandwagon whilst shunting the mixed train.
Packing the layout into the car is a bit of a jigsaw. In the event of me building another exhibition layout I’ll be sure to use smaller boards and more compact trestles. Whilst it fits in the car, it takes up far more space than Neil’s layout that is one third longer again.
But for now it will do and I’m looking forward to a good day out tomorrow. I’d best pack a magnifying glass for looking at all that 009…. ๐ซข๐
