Buildings Everywhere

Work continues apace. The Petite Properties cottage is finished. To the base kit, I added Slaters embossed styrene to the walls, York Modelmaking slates to the roof, ModelU guttering and downspouts. The water butt barrel is by Skytrex, the wellies and the watering can from Petite Properties and a doormat from fine sandpaper. Really feel like I’m getting the results I want with the acrylic paints now. 

Also on the modelling bench and complete apart from glazing where required, are a garden shed, greenhouse, conservatory, pig sty, chicken coop, water column and platform edging. The workbench has been rather busy!! The greenhouse and the conservatory will have some interior detailing to follow.

Up in the attic, I’ve been attempting some rudimentary backscene painting rather than just the ‘Light Rain’ emulsion that was on it. As with everything else with this project, it is a case of trying new techniques and seeing with hindsight, when completed, whether or not I would repeat them again.
