Monochrome Monday

Spent the weekend in North Wales celebrating our wedding anniversary at the place where we were married five years ago. Slept in a bell tent next to a lake. Beautiful location with no mobile phone reception or Wi-Fi for the weekend, was great to disconnect from the outside world for a couple of days.

On Sunday afternoon we went on the Fforest Coaster. An alpine coaster that is effectively a toboggan on rails. Coming down the hillside as fast as I dared was great fun! To get up to the top your coaster is hauled up a pair of rope worked inclines. As I sat there being pulled uphill through the pine trees watching the rope pass along made me think. This is probably the closest I’ll get to being a tree trunk being hauled out of the valley such was the case on the Kerry Tramway a century ago.
