Back To The Grindstone

Three days in to being back at work, plus the Queen’s funeral on Monday means that last week’s holiday already feels a long time ago. Spending a week in my favourite part of the world was a great way to recharge the batteries and give food to the soul. There were fun family time interspersed with some steam engine therapy, a couple of days driving squeezed in as well as my day Blocking.

On Sunday, before heading home, we took the Skylark down to Wharf and gave it a good run on the Llechfan Garden Railway. One of the most impressive garden railways I know, Steve and Kes always provide a warm welcome.

Sunday was no exception. The Skylark ran beautifully with Annabel picking up operating the Loco Remote very quickly.

Steve generously gave Annabel a couple of the 3D printed Corris waggons he produces so she now has her first wagons. Then we borrowed another 18 of them off Steve to give the Skylark a good loaded test run. Roll on next summer with more garden adventures.

Meanwhile, back home. I have returned to an empty modelling desk and thoughts are turning to which 7mm scale project to get stuck in to.
